i have a 4yr old greyhound/wolfhound x, suddenly shes got destructive;tearing her bed to shreds etc we bought a new bed and now she wees in it and will just lie in in like nothings wrong! physically she appears well,she hasnt been spayed as she has a blood disorder(haemaphilia)im worried she'll bleed to death on the operating table so im unsure what to do about that either, as she comes into season irreguarly but its v heavy when she does.
she is terribly anxious all the time but worse so when shes about to come into season .
please help, thanx lisa x

She may be exhibiting nesting behavior.  Or, she could be marking the new bed.  But, any sudden change in behavior should signal you to take her to the vet for a check, just to rule out anything physical.  Consult with your vet on the spay issue, as well, since I can't advise you on that.  I do know that sometimes, when people with low platelets or clotting disorders get surgery, they get plasma or blood transfusions first.  I don't know how that works for dogs, but your nearest veterinary teaching facility may be up on the latest.  Or, just call any of the large vet school hospitals like Cornell or Tufts for information.
I think your question requires medical expertise, not just behavioral, so a consult with a veterinarian behaviorist might be worthwhile.
