Question
Hello:
I have a 7 years old, male Siberian Husky. I got him when he was 6 months old. He does not like to use, sleep or stays in the dog house. Sometimes he go in, when is raining but not for so long. He prefers to sleep on the deck, I know that the huskies love high places but I have another female husky (9 years old) that she sleeps in her house. I tried to give him snacks or put snacks inside the dog house but he took it and goes flying outside. What could be the problem? Also, when I put fresh water in his plate, he always try to lick my face, what that means? Thanks.

Answer
Dear Nitza,

Different dogs have different preferences, and if he prefers to stay out of the house, let him and don't worry about it -- he's been doing it for 7 years apparently and you didn't mention any major issues other than you worry about it.  As long as his house is big enough for him, and clean, it's his choice.

I think he licks your face because he loves you and wants to spend more time with you!

Write back if there is some problem that arises from his not using his dog house but otherwise, let him be!

Thanks for writing.
