Emotional trauma in toy poodle

Question
I left for 2 hrs. with my 8 yr old toy poodle just fine and came home and found him shaking on the couch.  He looked spooked by something.  He shook all night and what time he wasn't clinging to me, he was hiding. He cannot or won't jump up now. The vet said his blood/urine was fine and felt him all over and couldn't find a reason. Gave him 50mg of Tramadol. He is just totally different. Nothing happened as far as I can tell while I was gone - no call from the security company or any smoke alarms going off.

Answer
Toy Poodles have the possibility of cervical problems and I'm wondering if your veterinarian is adept at identifying orthopedic injury.  It certainly seems to me that your dog is in pain, especially since he "cannot or won't jump up now."  I suggest you need to consult an orthopedic specialist ASAP.
