my dog is 3 years old, not neutered, he marks his territory in the house and is now starting to growlat my wife if I get him neutered will it help?

Neutering does not solve his behavioral issues, but it won't hurt to do it anyways.  It is true that neutered dogs are less likely to mark their territory, but since he is already 3 years old, it is more than just hormonal and is a habit he has.  Even if neutered, he may still continue to mark because it's a habit.  To keep the dog from marking in the house, you need to catch him doing it and reprimand him.  You may have to confine him to an area where you can watch him closely, and crate him when you have to leave home.  As for the growling, I suggest getting the hands-on help of a professional trainer.  Your wife should be working his obedience and gaining more respect.
