Question
i think my 6 month old kitten has allergies..  I recently changed the cat litter and by the next day, he was sneezing.  I also have a 9 year old cat and a 16 year old cat whom seem not effected by this litter brand.  My little guy is still active and is eating and drinking as usual..  tonight i came home, and he is not sneezing but when he gets excited, he breathes out hard and his nose bleeds.  when he is calm and not to excited, his nose is fine.  is it possible its just an allergy and all i need to do is change the litter, and which brand do recommend for multiple cats?

Answer
There are a lot of cat litters out there for allergic cats. Yesterday's news is one, there is corn cob based litters, etc. Go to a pet store and look around. You might want a litter box just for him set aside. I don't use any kitty litter so I haven't been brand shopping lately but when I did I used plain litter.

Be careful about changing litters since some cats will stop using the box. If he wasn't sneezing from the last litter why not change back to it until he is older at least.

A lot of cats are affected by litter dust. That doesn't mean it's an allergy- just that the dust is irritating their nasal passages.
