We live in North Central Wisconsin. In reading some of you answers you say add a good bacteria to your pond. There are so many to choose from. What is your recommendations.

A healthy pond would have many types of microorganisms.
You can buy many different types of bacteria but only some of them will survive under specific conditions.
Water acidity, chemical composition, light and temperature are the things that will make it happen.
Keeping as many different plants and creatures as possible is the secret for a healthy pond.
