copper and water lillies

Question
Hi, could you give me any information on the effect (if any) that copper has on water lillies

Answer
I actually don't know for sure.  Copper sulfate and other copper compounds are used to kill algae and can be toxic to fish.  For that reason (it kills algae which are plants), I would guess that a lot of copper would cause problems.  What source of copper are you considering and why?  I tried to search on the internet but found nothing.  Sorry.
