Question
my water lilies are being severed. Each day I lose about 20 or so.When I look at the stem , it appears the stems have been cut. They are not chewed into, it almost looks like they have been cut with scissors. What could it be?I only have goldfish in the pond.

Answer
Hi Teresa,
Thanx for your question.  You do not describe the environment in which your water lilies live.  However, I can tell you, your lilies are being eaten by an animal or you have a neighbor who has an issue with you and s/he is coming over and chopping your plants.  NO, seriously, I was kidding on the last one.  I hope that's  not the case.  But, it is rather unusual to have clean cuts on your water plants.  Unfortunately, I have no answer for you.

thx,
Tom
