cockatoo losing feathers

Hi,I just read about another cockatoo losing it's feathers and it was mentioned a no seed diet.I would like to know what else to feed him.Also we have had a plague of some sort of flea that attaches itself to everything including chooks which died so we sprayed with an insecticide called Malaban.We sprayed Rocky the cocky because he had some too.Could this be the problem with his feathers.Also could you tell me what this flea is as it is not an ordinary flea.Thanks Elaine

This is a totally different issue all together. That is bird mite or lice. It is not like a flea and you must be careful what you use to treat it because it can kill your bird. This has nothing to do with the diet. You can use this spray.
