Vicious baby parrot

Question
Hello,

I recently bought a baby handfed Eclectus parrot from a pet store. She is 4-5 months old, they didn't give us an exact date. We've had the bird for one week now and the bird seems to be adjusted to her new home. She eats, takes food from the hand and tries to baby babble talk. The problem is that the bird tries to bite us if we try to touch her. She can step up fine when I show my hand to the bird at her chest (I use gloves) and she understands 'up.' However if I try to pet her head she tries to bite my hand.

I have taken her to the vet for a check up and she is in good health. I have also recently tried wrapping her up in a towel to pet her head but once the towel is off she tries to bite any hand that tries to touch her.

My question is that is there any possible way to tame this bird so that she can allow us to pet her? I had a Cockatiel before who absolutely loved being petted and was an absolute sweetie who never bited. I  never remembered having this kind of problem with my old Cockatiel.

Thanks for your time

Answer
The fact that you are calling her vicious sounds like you already have it in for her and it sounds like she isnt able to live up to your cockatiel. Parrots are different to cockatiels and each bird is an individual anyway. Do you realise how evil it is to restrain a bird with a towel just so you can stroke it! How selfish and stressful. It makes me very sad
