My conure doesnt seem to like baths

Question
My 5 month old sun conure doesn't like baths. Before I got Max, I read up on these birds. The information I have seen says they loves baths. The 2 ways I have read about don't work. I have put luke warm water into a glass pie dish, but he/she won't go near it. I have also tried misting Max with water (out of a spray bottle). In a cheerful voice I tell him/ her "Pretty bird... bath time..." But with the mist (I spray it over Max and let it gently land on him) he starts franticly flapping his/her wings and tries to fly away. If Max is on my finger, he'll try to fly off (his wings are clipped) so I tried placing him on the ground, so he wouldn't get hurt trying to fly away, but he still gets scared... tries to fly away and will climb as high as he can to get away from it.
What am I doing wrong?

Answer
you're not doing anything wrong! just because most of one species likes one thing doesn't mean all of those species will. Max just might be the rare sunny that doesn't like water. You are doing good to keep trying whether he likes it or not he should get misted regulary. You can try taking him in the shower with you or leaving the pies dish in his cage for awhile he might just curious enough to give it a try.
