Question
WHAT SUPPLIES ARE NEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF A HORSE?

Answer
Dear Jacob,

This is a pretty open-ended question.  If you mean, what do I keep in my tack room in case of emergency? Then that's one list.  The "in case of emergency" list also depends on how far away you are from a veterinarian and what your medical skill level is.

If you mean hay, grain, vitamins, buckets, water supply, feeders etc.  That depends on whether your horse has pasture, what part of the world you live in and whether you are caring for your own horse or boarding him/her. That list would also include tools for doing repairs to your fence or barn.

The other possibility is that perhaps you are asking me about normal grooming equipment.  In that case, you need a minimum of: a halter, a soft cotton lead rope, a hoof pick, a curry comb or shedding blade, a stiff body brush and a soft body brush.  Depending on where you live, you may need fly spray, hoof oil, a fly mask or a lot of other little things that depend on geography and weather.

If you want a more precise answer, please write again and tell me what part of the country you are in, what the weather is like and exactly what it is you want to know about.  I can only guess from your question that you are planning on getting a horse, but a good answer requires more information from you.

Good luck.
