Fancy Mice Eye Problem

Hi,I have recently bought a fancy mouse, Charlie, and the day after i bought it it had a gammy eye.I have been on lots of websites and most of them said bathe it with salt water.I'm so attached with it and don't want to hurt it so is this the write thing to do.I have gently washed his eye with warm water but that didn't work.Please send your suggestion back.Thankyou.

What people mean when they say salt water isn't like if you put a bunch of salt in water, which I think would hurt.  Certainly they say 'putting salt on one's wounds' which suggests that salt can hurt a wound.  So I see your concern.

What they mean is a saline solution.  There is a kind of salt in it that is not directly like dissolving salt in water.  You can get a saline solution for contact lenses.  Take the least complicated one:  Some are also for cleaning, and you don't want that.  Ask a clerk if you have trouble.

If that doesn't work, the mouse needs to go to a vet.
