Question
QUESTION: I have a mini Dachshund-Chihuahua mix who nibbles on blankets and clothes and any material basically. She is almost two; not teething; not pregnant; and doesn't appear to be stressed or nervous. She has plenty of toys and I give her hard bones to chew on. Could she just be doing this for fun or cause she likes the way the material feels when she chews? I'm not sure if this is a common thing or if this is a clue something is wrong with her or she is stressed/anxious/nervous.

ANSWER: This may very well be an artifact of her neonate period; she may have learned this behavior as a self calming behavior, or simply because she was bored.  Unfortunately, since this appears to be an ingrained habit, extinguishing this will be difficult.  I need more information: does she do this when she is alone or also when you are present?  Under what circumstances (time of day/night, before being fed, after, etc.)? Are you finding material in her stool?  Please reply with answers and any other pertinent information and I will assist you.

QUESTION: she mostly does it when it is bed time or she is fixing to relax and take a nap. it's not like all the time either, just sometimes. nothing in her stool or any different behavior.

Answer
This sounds like a self calming behavior, even like the sucking/kneading paw at the teat.  She may have been an only puppy.  If she has no shreds in her stool, and so long as what she nibbles is her own bedding (and not your new cashmere sweater), I wouldn't worry.
