Question
I have a cat who is about 16 years old.  He has always been a large
cat at about 16 pounds.  He has recently lost 4 pds.  He has been
on  w/d cat food for several months and suppose to be losing
slowly.  He has lost this weight over the last few weeks. He is also
drinking more water and urinating more.   My concern is that there
might be a health reason for the weight loss and the increase in
drinking and urination.  Is this an immediate concern or something
to monitor and wait and see?  He is ,of couse, the love of my life.
Thank you,

Answer
Drinking alot and urinating alot are symptoms of diabetes and a few other things. You need to take him to the vet for some blood work. I doubt its anything that threatens his life if not done within a few days, however you do need to do it as soon as possible.
