Answer
Hi Michelle,

I am sorry it took me so long to get here to answer. For some reason the notifications have been going in to my Spam folder at Yahoo.

There is too much detail to be able to give you all the info you need on handrearing a bird as young as this. I would certainly hope that the breeder you are buying your bird from is going to make sure you know everything you need to know BEFORE they send the baby home with you. If they don't, they have no business selling baby birds. I have a real problem with people selling unweaned babies to inexperienced owners. Because I can't give you all the details I am going to suggest that you pay a visit to the website: birdsnways.com

There you should find some information on handrearing a baby bird that will be a big help to you but PLEASE do not take the baby home until you have gotten every bit of info from the breeder. Don't leave with that baby until you feel comfortable or you will be setting yourself up for trouble. I would even make sure to feed the baby a few times while someone experienced watches to make sure you are doing it corectly.

Best of luck to you and your new baby.
