Question
Hi,Kelli
I have two indian ring neck green parrot.I think one of them is sick. His name is Munna. His stools are liquid and whitish arround a very little amount of semi solid greenish stool in the middle(both are 3 months old, both can fly, both are in same cage and hand fed baby).Munna has been limping by his right leg injury for last seven days.
Is he nervous?Or is it a kind of stomach problem?Where I live in there is no avian/animal-vet.
Normaly I feed them ripe papaya, gram, coocked rice, guava, pumpkin sheed, bean, carrot, hand made bread, and fresh water.Munna takes a very little amount of food, his voice also low, he poops every 20 minutes.
My mother told me to use some warm ointment made of termaric powder and lime (throughly mixed) in his injured leg and to compress by iceywater and  tolarable hot water one after another.I am also doing that at least twice daily. Is it good for a pet? When I do that Munna also apriciate it.
I am a regular reader of your vareities Q/ANS. Web site.So I think you will be a very good advicer for my pets and we will be very proud having YOU with us where there is no avian/animal-vet near by to consult.I am a true pet lover please HELP-US.
           Thanking you in advance.

Answer
As stated in my profile I am not an avian vet so I can only assist you in what to do to make your pet more comfortable. The diet you are feeding may cause runny stools it does not sound to abnormal for the diest and just being moved. Is there a way you could get them on a traditional pellet diet or are there no pet stores that carry them around? Add some nuts and seeds to the diet as well if you are doing it all natural. If he enjoys the salve on his leg I would definitly keep doing it. Try to keep him warm and keep handeling to a minimum untill his leg heals up. Sorry I couldn't be much help thanks for the compliments ---Kelli
