Question
Hi,
I recently began dating someone who has a 9 year old rot/chow/shepherd mix male 'Teddy' and I have a 4 year old boxer male 'Hunni'. My boxer is a happy go luck guy who never gets into fights, but can protect himself when necessary. Teddy never has issues with female dogs, and seems to struggle with male dogs. The first time they met was outside of Teddy's house and right away attacked my dog and we had to rip them apart. After a month and approximately 7 fights, I am afraid this dog will never get accustomed to 'Hunni'. Teddy often growls at me as well. I am wondering if there is any way to train this 9 year old dog who used to never show aggression or specific ways to bring these two together and hope Hunni doesn't become aggressive as well. Please help!

Answer
Juliet, PLEASE consult a local trainer who has experience dealing with aggression. I am not going to attempt to give you advice because this problem has been allowed to escalate for too long and I don't want to see anyone get hurt. You need a professional to come into your home and work with you and the dogs one-on-one.
