Question
I own a 6 year old cocker and absolutely lover her. She has been a joy since the day we brought her home. The problem is in the last few months she has started acting strange. A few months ago she couldn't walk on her leg and she didn't want you to touch it. The vet didn't see any issues with it and said maybe she sprained it and just to give it a few days and she'd be back to normal. A few days turned into 3 weeks before she would start walking on it again and letting us touch it. She has also started shaking uncontrollably.  One of my biggest concerns is that she has starting going to the bathroom while just sitting there or while asleep. She'll notice as soon as she feels the urine touch her and she'll turn around and look at it like "what just happened?!?" Her hair is long and thick so it takes a few seconds before she feels wet. We took her to the vet and the vet felt around and she cried out in pain, which she NEVER does. The vet said something wasn't right, but the blood work came back showing no issues so now the vet said she is fine. Any ideas what it could be?

Answer
Did your vet do a urinalysis?  Shaking is a sign of pain and is completely abnormal in a healthy 6 year old dog.  Did he take x-rays?

You need a new vet.  Get a copy of her bloodwork and get her somewhere for another opinion.
And take a urine sample in with you.  First morning is best and unless you're going directly to the vet, refrigerate it.

She most definitely needs an x-ray to rule out a kidney or bladder stone AND/OR a kidney or bladder infection.

I suspect the leg issue and this urinating problem are two completely different things.  For your vet to say "she's fine" when she's so obviously NOT is just outrageous.

If this were my dog I'd be at the ER.  At the least, get her to another vet pronto!  This is trouble!
