dog nibbles on blanket

my chihuahua is pregnant and due any day .well she has been nibbling on my blanket for hrs at a time!  why is she doing this?

Thanks for the question.

She may be stressed because of her hormones, or she may be trying to shred the blanket to provide a "nest" for her little ones. I'm no expert on how to manage a litter of pups. I work mostly on obedience and behavioral issues in puppies and older dogs. But this definitely sounds to me like a "nesting" behavior.
