My dog hates flies

Question
If a fly gets into our house, our dogs runs and hides. He won't come into any room with a fly. The flies aren't annoying him directly, they may be just on the wall or generally buzzing around, but my dog seems to be very annoyed by them.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Stewart

Answer
THIS is a weird one!! Your dog may associate the buzz of a fly's wings with something very frightening, some event that coincided with such a sound.  Or your dog may be responding to the sight/sound and some event in your home with a human cohabitant: anger, fear of flies, violent attempt to kill a fly.  Or your dog may have a low level seizure disorder that is precipitated by a sound on the frequency of fly flight sounds.  OR you may have an inordinate number of flies in your home and they have bitten and harassed your dog, making him fearful of the sound.  I left my Karnak hat at home.  Only you know the answers to any of the above proposed scenarios.  Please repost with more elaborate description.
