Our Great Dane

Question
This morning our Great Dane hiked his leg and peed on my dad's jacket hanging off the back of the chair in my parents room. He is over 2 years and we have a dog-door to the back yard, so we are curious as to why he would do this? Was he mad at my dad or what? My dad is sure he didn't do anything to make this dog mad. This really, really strange thing is, is I was having a dream where I was extremely mad at my dad. I know this is a coincidence but, it was just really strange.

At that age, he's starting to reach social maturity. I suspect he was just trying to cover the scent of another male by marking. I'd supervise him carefully for a while and give him less freedom to make sure this doesn't become a bad habit. You might also want to have a urinalysis done to make sure he doesn't have an infection. Is he neutered? That's not a fix for leg lifting, but can frequently help.
