greyhound behaviour

Question
We sometimes look after my sons greyhound and I am intrigued by some of his behaviour. He will occassionally throw back his head and open his mouth looking excited, giving little jerks. These are happy signals I think, he isn't distressed. In fact he could almost be smiling. He will also follow me all over the place looking as though he wants something but I never know what! Any ideas?

Answer
I hope these are happy signals. They could also be minor seizure activity (just from the description - not seeing the dog, it might not look like that in person) I suspect he just wants to be with his people. My dogs follow me around - a lot. I'd do a bit of obedience work and give him a chance to earn a reward. Sandy Case BFA MEd CPDT www.positivelycanine.com
