mother dog killing her puppies

Question
I have a one year and 6 months old dog. She gave birth to 3 puppies just a few days ago and this is her 3rd set of babies. She never hurt any of her puppies before. That is why I was horrified waking up in the morning after she gave birth and seeing a dead puppy with only half of its body left! The mother ate the stomach part of the poor baby.

And then this morning, I was again terrified to see another dead puppy. But this time, she did not ate the pup. And there was no bite or wound. I also think that at that time I saw the dead pup, she haven't realized yet that it was dead coz she was licking it, like when she cleans her babies. When I touched the dead pup, it was already a bit hard. Minutes later, she did not come near the dead pup anymore.

I also observed that she was carrying her pups alot up the sofa (when the 2 were still alive). I was thinking that maybe, the puppy fell down hard and died. The sofa is about a feet high from the ground). She also tend to sit on them sometimes and the puppies would cry, maybe because the pressure was too much.

Yesterday and the day before, I was kind of touching and carrying the puppies alot because I was too fond of them. I even brought the puppies to the sofa for a couple of minutes, observing if the mother would look for her babies when she sees that they were gone from the "bed" I fixed for them. Do you think my frequent contact with the puppies affected her behaviour towards them? What do you think could be the reasons for her "cruelty" against her two pups?

I also observed that my dog is somehow aggressive towards human children (neighbors or strangers, that is. But not towards my 3 year old son). This is always the case whether or not she is pregnant or nursing.

I also have two other male dogs but they are tied outside the house (the mother and the puppies are inside). Chiqui tend to bark when the other two male dogs bark (they are somehow aggressive towards people coming near our gate). We have a store near the gate that is why alot of people come our house. Do you think Chiqui somehow was stressed that is why she has been cruel to her youngs? I have read in some articles that mother dogs can kill her puppy if she's stressed.

I hope you could give me ideas on the behaviour of Chiqui. I do not have alot of money now to take her to the vet that is why I thought of asking your help.

More power!

Answer
Interfering with neonate (newborn puppies) can seriously disrupt a young bitch (THIS BITCH IS FAR TOO YOUNG TO HAVE WHELPED TWO LITTERS OF PUPPIES.) This is not "cruelty" toward puppies, this is a serious aberrant behavior.  One does NOT interfere with neonates; one allows the dam (mother) to do what she must to care for them (while closely observing their progress by weighing them daily and observing if every puppy is able to nurse properly and adequately.)

Listen: this bitch is demonstrating fear aggression toward "strange" children, that is already a serious temperament flaw (possibly lack of socialization on your part.)  THIS IS NOT A BITCH THAT SHOULD BE BRED FOR ANY REASON.  STOP NOW, HAVE HER SPAYED.
