Question
I have 4 barn cats. They live in the barn, but they are all fixed, have all of their shots and are healthy. One of my female cats is 3 years old. We have had her since she was a kitten but recently she started playing in her water bowl. I put out a dog bowl with water in it for them to drink(same bowl since she was a kitten), but for about a month now as soon as she notices the bowl is full, she takes her front paws and splashes every drop of water out onto the ground. Its not that this is a big problem, i can always get another kind of bowl, but it is bugging me why all of a sudden she would start this. Thanks

Answer
JoAnne,

It sounds like your kitty was bored and found a way to amuse herself AND to get your attention.

Sometimes only cats know why they do the strange things they do!

Get a different bowl that is deep for drinking, and leave her the waterbowl she like to play in to keep her happy.
