Question
Any tips on trans planting plants from a large wetland area near my house. Cat tails

Answer
You want to move cattails from a natural wetland to your pond?  That's how I got my first cattail.  Regular cattails grow like crazy and need yearly repotting if in a pot of 2 gallons like mine.  Cattails are hard to kill.  If you can get any root, you'll probably get them to grow.  A shovel in the shallows would give you the best chance of getting an intact plant.  I used a hand trowel I think but you could even get some by pulling if the mud were loose enough.  I hope that helps.
