leading

Question
My 7 month golden retriever pup leads us (mostly my 8 yr.old) around by the hand. She takes our hand and pulls us to where she wants to go(she is never aggressive). This makes me wonder if this can be used as a positive training behavior. Why does she do this?

Answer
I've known dogs who do this, and while not everyone likes having a dog put their mouth on them, I find it quite charming. It seems to me like it is the doggie version of "holding hands" You could certainly put a cue on it. Sandy Case BFA MEd CPDT www.positivelycanine.com
