Reduce Under Eye Circles Naturally

What a surprise to wake up and find out you look like one of those big-eyed fish? Under eye circles and puffiness is no way to begin the day. Commercial applications can be expensive. Treat your condition with natural beauty options.

Why do we have to put up with under eye circles? Many people don't know the causes. Not getting enough sleep is the first potential cause that comes to mind. Stress can bring on sleeplessness and other conditions that can lead to under eye circles. Dark circles are one sign that the body isn't getting the time it needs while you sleep to repair itself.

Don't forget the water that flows so freely from our eyes through a variety of emotional states. Crying, especially at night, can cause the tissues to retain the fluid leading to puffiness as well as dark circles.

Here are a few ways to reduce that look without chemicals.

1. Cucumbers. Waste not, want not is the adage when it comes to natural beauty. Thin slices of cold cucumbers can be placed on the eyes for at least 10 minutes. The juice works as an astringent, removing excess fluid and lightening the area under the eyes. Don't throw them away afterwards, though. Pop them in your mouth for a healthy snack.

2. Potato slices. They are great baked, fried, and boiled, but how about on the eyes? Potatoes were once used as a way to pull impurities from the body in folk remedies. Slice a potato into two thin circles to apply to the eyes for about 20 minutes. The raw potato will lighten dark circles.

3. Banana puree. Restore moisture to your skin and a healthier look with bananas. You won't be eating them but putting them on your face. Mash ripe bananas into a lumpy spread or a smooth puree and smear under your eyes before bed. In the morning, you'll be amazed at how good the area under your eyes will look.

4. Chamomile tea bags. Use chamomile tea to calm your spirit and your skin. Cold or warm tea bags will do the trick. Cool them in the fridge for 20 minutes or so or just let them warm on a plate. Lay back and hold the tea bags on your eyes for about 10 minutes.

5. Drink water. Water is good for healthy skin. It nourishes the organs, cells, and washes impurities from the body. Staying hydrated is one way to avoid dark circles in the first place.

6. Change your diet. If you are not eating properly, your body will show it. Lack of vital nutrients and minerals can manifest itself with dark patches on your skin including under your eyes.

7. Lack of moisture can contribute to dark circles under the eyes. Natural moisturizers contain ingredients like avocado and almond (nuts contain Vitamin E). Cut out the middleman and use pure avocado or almond oil on the area.

Dark circles are not how we want to put our best face forward. Get rid of them naturally, without harsh chemicals.
