Question
My 14 month old bitch has started really misbehaving when it is time to go on the lead, and it is becoming a real problem to get her to on it.  She was supposed to have a season in December but I opted to have her injected to stop it.  For the past two weeks she is eating allot more, and she wants allot more of my attention, which suggests to me she my be coming into season early.  How can I get her to stop running away, when it's time to come home.  She usually is no problem, and could I get her spade now?

Answer
Hi, Lisa,

Thanks for the question.

I'm not much of an expert on the hormonal changes females go start coming into their first heat. For that part of your query it would be better to ask your vet.

I'm not sure I understand the other part of your question either. You say she's misbehaving when it's time to go on the lead, and then you say it's a problem getting her on it. The first part sounds like she won't go to the bathroom or walk when she's on the lead. The second part sounds like you can't get the leash on her. Then you say she runs away when it's time to come home. THAT sounds like the problem is at the dog run or at the dog park. If that's the case, the mistake we often make, as dog owners, is we only call the dog to come back to us when it's time to leave the play group, so they associate the "Come!" command with all the fun stopping. Is that what you're referring to? If so, the following link will be very helpful: http://www.tiny.cc/RecallAtDogRun

I hope this answers your question!
