Picking The Perfect Pet For Your Personality

2016/5/3 14:33:23
Choosing the perfect animal with which to share your abode is a difficult task and it is well worth considering the implications. It's not dissimilar to picking a flatmate, you need someone that fits with your moods and views. It is no different in the world of pets, no point in having a happy go-go lucky dog if you're prone to never opening the curtains. Below is a selection of personalised pet choices based on character traits.

The Optimist
Yay! You're getting a pet! If the glass is always half full for you then good work, go you! When it comes to pets you'll need something dynamic and upbeat, a puppy will be spot on. Your sentiments will soon rub off on it and before you know it you'll both be bounding about happy as Larry excited at the merest thing. The post arriving, dinner time and walkies... that's the dog, not necessarily you. If the blustering and bubbling of an ever eager pooch doesn't sound right for you, then maybe try a rodent of some sort. Chipmunks are feisty and always on the move or maybe a hamster, they're the eternal optimist of the pet world. They always run in those wheels, presumably expecting to get somewhere...

The Pessimist
You see yourself as a realist, but your friends say different. But that's ok, you can get a pet and rely less on people who'll inevitably let you down at some point. The problem is you're concerned that maybe you're not right for an animal. Maybe they'll just ignore you, look after themselves and interact with you via disapproving glares and cool indifference. They'll merely use you and find someone better at the earliest opportunity. Which is actually all fine, and why you should own a cat.

The Indecisive
Hmm, decisions, decisions. Should you get a pet to be indecisive with you or one that knows its own mind and can make decisions without your help? Tricky... Maybe decide in the morning.

The Spontaneous
So you've woken up and decided that what you really need in your life is a pet. Brilliant. And now you're in the pet shop, you've not even had breakfast yet and you've decided to buy a chameleon! Why? Because you're spontaneous, and it seemed like a good thing to do at the time. Plus its eyes move independently from one another, how freaky is that?! Actually it was a fairly good choice, what animal would be more adaptable to your constantly changing whims than a creature whose entire life is built on blending in to whatever environment it finds itself in.

Hopefully these four traits will help you on your way for the time being, but be sure to tune in next time for some more personality types and suggestions for animals that will complement them...
