The most common reason for your dog to have diarrhea is when it has a drastic change in its diet. Your dog is used to eating a certain brand of dog food then, for whatever reason, you have put something completely different into its system. This usually puts the dog抯 digestive system into a mild form of shock and can cause diarrhea. You can ease your dog into a new brand of food over a few days, and you won抰 have to worry about this happening at all.

Worms are next on the list. If you constantly keep your dog dewormed, you won抰 have to worry about this very much. Deworming will not only keep your dog from having diarrhea, but it will prevent a multitude of other sickness that could affect it. Stress can play a role in your dog getting diarrhea as well. This usually happens when you make sudden and drastic changes to its environment but it will go away once the stress level is down.

You should also try to wean it back onto its normal food again very slowly. Don抰 go straight back as this can cause more problems for your dog. Instead, take a few days.
