The public has come to the rescue of two missing pets this month in Boston. The first to be rescued was a 10 year old border collie, that went missing from her home in Wyberton after being frightened by fireworks on November 3rd.

Her owner Jennie Roberts posted a notice on facebook about her disappearance and was astounded by the response she received. Here's what she had to say about the reaction, 揥e had about 800 people supporting us on Facebook. I don抰 even know these people but they set up an extra group to help find Bella, organised search parties and put up missing posters,?adding, 揑 was amazed that so many people could be so kind.?/p>

Thankfully Bella was found on by a lady on Frampton Marsh and was returned to her worried owner. 揑n my excitement to get Bella back I forgot to ask the ladies names,?said Jennie. 揃ut I would like them to contact me through The Standard so I can thank them.?As a thank-you to all the people who helped in the search for Bella, Jennie is hosting a get together in Boston's Central Park on November 26th.

It is not just Jennie that has been lucky enough to be reunited by her lost pet. Monica Lawrence's pet Jackdaw Izzy went missing from the garden. The bird was tame and inside the house with Monica, but often went flying around the local village.

揥e missed him ever so much and while it was not unusual for him to go off with the wild flock for a few hours, he rarely disappears overnight, much less for days on end,?said Monica, who rescues hurt birds.

Posters and word of mouth were used to spread the news about the bird's disappearance. One of the posters resulted in a member of the public contacting Monica when she noticed the Jackdaw. 揌e was being fed by members of the public by a burger van and luckily we were able to go over and collect him,?said Monica. He has returned to his rightful home.

揌e sits outside the window chattering when he wants to come back inside,?said Monica. She added: 揌e is like one of the family and chooses to spend most of his time inside with his human flock and his one-legged girlfriend Ro. Both live indoors and are very much part of the family.?/p>
