How to Catch Peacocks. No matter how quick or smart you think you are, you will grow tired and frustrated trying to catch a peacock or peahen without a plan. They key to moving peafowl quickly and easily is to corner the birds while luring them into a cage with food. Peafowl eat insects, plants and small creatures, according to National Geographic. Even an amateur can capture a peacock or peahen by following basic guidelines and using the right food from a local feed store.

Things Needed

• Gloves
• Oversized net
• 2 people
• Cage
• Feed or cracked grain

Step 1

Move the peacocks' cage into a confined area, such as a barn or shed. Attempting to catch peacocks in an open field or green space is difficult. By herding the peacocks into an enclosed space, you will have an easier time controlling where the birds move.

Step 2

Place grain, worms or any type of food typically fed to a peacocks in a cage and leave the door open.

Step 3

Approach the birds while walking toward a confined space containing the cage and food. Use a net or friend to herd the of peacocks and control where they move.

Step 4

Herd the peacocks into the cage and shut the door.

Warnings

• Put on gloves. Though this method does not require that you touch the peacock, in the event that you need to touch the bird or cage, gloves should be worn.
