Well, this much at least can be derived from the term food vacuum packaging is that it is a process of packing of food stuffs in vacuum. Any food material when is packed so as to sell it in the market is packed under certain conditions for better preservation of the food stuff inside the packet. One of such conditions is packing the food materials in the absence of oxygen or the food materials to be packed for selling should in no way come in contact with oxygen.

It should be complete vacuum inside the packet used for packaging. This technique used for preservation of food for longer days is referred to as food vacuum packing. Vacuum state or no oxygen content bars the growth of many micro organisms thus, resulting in longer shelf life of the food.

Food vacuum packaging is used for storing dry foods like nuts, cereals, smoked fish, coffee etc., for longer period of time. This process is also used for the storage of fresh foods like meats, any dairy products, vegetables etc. as these food items encourage bacterial growth in them if in contact with the atmospheric air.

From the packaging store the food products are then sent to the retail shops for the customers to consume the products. It takes days for packed food materials to reach from the packaging store to the house of the customers thus; foods are needed to be preserved at least for these long days, this is only possible by the process of food vacuum packaging.

Then again not all the food materials get sold in a single day in the retail shop. The package takes days again to get finished from the retail shops, here; again the food is required to be preserved for longer days. Thus, the need for vacuum packaging is felt in every sphere of the process of packaging to selling.

The consumers too do not end up eating all the foods at a time; the food whose packaging has not been opened can be stored further to be used in the following days. Here, too we can see vividly that the necessity for storage of food for days together. This storage without the food getting rotten or without initiating the growth of micro organisms is only possible in the technique of food vacuum packaging.

This storage of food is very popular in today’s world. With the development of technologies people have started getting lesser and lesser time to spare from their daily routine. Hence, people cannot enter into a detail cooking process, these people then feel the need for choosing packaged foods from the shops which are easy to eat, and the time spent behind preparing the food is also negligible.
