Question
I have a dog I'm watching for a few months and the owners only feed him people food. I don't have the money to do this so I was wondering how can I get him to eat the dry dog food I bought him?

Answer
   Hi Jennifer,
Wow. I've never heard of any dog owners that were so irresponsible as to feed their dog only "people food"! It's bad enough feeding them most of the things we eat, but feeding them ONLY our food is ridiculous! Please mention this to the owners, if possible.
You've taken on the responsibility of caring for another person's pet. This is a big deal and you were willing to commit to it. I don't mean to give you a lecture, but you need to feed the dog whatever it will eat (nothing like bread, cheese, candy, ect.).
Try feeding him Kirkland Chicken, Vegetable, and Rice Large Breed (or what ever size the dog is) puppy version (if under a year old). Try wetting it as well. This should really get him to eat. It can be purchased at your local Costco store for only $10 for a 20 pound bag. It's a really good deal and probably the best food on the market; I highly recommend it.
What dog food did you buy him? For the time being, try wetting the dog food that you are currently feeding him. If you have any other questions, please click on "Add a Follow-up". Thank you!
