Urinating

Hi there.  I have a 6 month old female puppy (cross Jack Russell with Maltese).  She keeps urinating on my bed when I am not in the room - this is happening on a weekly basis, almost to the day!.  I think she goes to my bed especially to pee on it.  She has been house trained and she always has access outside. She is very relaxed with my two cats and my male dog and very happy.  She has just been spayed.  The problem started before she got spayed.

Dear Christine,

This is going to sound terribly simple, but if your dog is completely and reliably housetrained, just close the door to your bedroom for the next month or two.  This will get her out of the habit.  If she starts urinating on another piece of furniture as a substitute, you'll have to regress a little on your housetraining.  Go to http://www.dogdaysusa.com/housetraining.cfm and you'll likely be at Step 3 in the process.
