Do you know that a chinchilla is a very cute and nice pet. Once we bring him home we can keep him that way. There is certain things we need to do to keep our new pet happy as well as healthy . Just a little daily care here and there and we have a very cute and healthy little animal that will keep us smiling for many hours.

Yep we need to do certain things to keep our new pet health. First and foremost is to see to it that he gets his daily dust bath. The pet shop where we got him should be able to supply us with the proper dust. Next we need to keep him in a smoke free environment. If not then we will have another problem with the tobacco tar accumulating in his fur. This can make him sick very quickly.

If this tobacco problem should happen then you would need to was his fur with water and then make sure he is dried properly. You cannot just give him a bath. You must be sure you get him dried quickly with a cloth.

These cute little animals come in the natural in a standard gray. However the pet shops will be able to furnish you with other colors including beige, ebony, and white. Acutually the dust from their natural habitat gets into the fur and absorbs oil and dirt, this keeps the pet healthy and happy.

In the event you happen to get your chinculla wet he really must be dried immediately. You can use towels and a non heat hair dryer to get the job done properly.

In the event you are not able to get your pet started off properly with his dust bath. The Chinculla will quickly stress himself out with out the dust bath. So you will need to be careful with this. It can cause other health problems as well.

You will notice that your Chinculloa will tend to become greasy and matted and he will overheat if he does not get his dust bath.So you need to watch out for this problem.

You will quickly learn that your pet is a very playful little animal and after a full day at play he will become matted and greasy if he misses his dust bath.

When preparing a dust bath for your chinchilla, you should be sure to do this in order to keep him fresh. Include a mixture of baking soda in the dust. Just let him roll in the dust as this is natural but do not forget to swab his fur with a cloth if it happens to be soiled with urine.

If it so happens that your pet chinchilla is not used to getting the dust bath, try a massage everyday until it becomes a habit for him to use the dust bath to keep clean.

The consistency of the dust bath may have an effect on the chinchilla. You must talk with your pet shop operator and have him furnish the proper dust bath for your pet.
