Everyone loves to have a lovely pet like a dog in their home. But not many of us would like to have a disobedient canine. It is very vital to give basic obedience training to dogs so that they remain obedient as they grow up. The following tips will tell you how you can get your dog under your control.

The first thing you should do is to make sure that he knows you are the leader of the family. Also make him understand that he is below every other person in your home. For this you can allow him to have his meals after everyone completes their meals. This will make a clear statement that you are the master.

It is also good to dominate him every once in a while. This again confirms to him that you are the leader and he should obey his master. You needn't be strict all the times as that could have a reverse effect.

Please do not beat your dog for obedience problems. This can force the dog obey you for a shorter time but it can turn violent towards you or any other family members in the long term. Be very careful in treating dogs especially if your home has a baby (Dogs naturally love babies in the family though).

Train your dog new skills. This will keep him active and fit. When teaching him constantly praise to make him feel special. If your dog knows that you are giving attention to him he will love it and show his love towards you. There are a few commands that a dog can pick up easily. Sit, Down, Stay, Come and Stand are some of those orders. You can begin teaching your canine with these basic orders.

Spend some quality time with your dog. Dogs are very friendly and they need someone for company and if you take him for brief walks and spend quality time engaging him then you have a higher chance of getting together and having an obedient dog.

Training a canine can make you its master. But it is crucial that you select him as your best buddy. This process can be hard at times and requires patience and lots of love from your side. A disobedient dog can never be a happy dog and as its master you will not be happy either. So take some time in growing your dog as an obedient pet and make him love his master and his family.
