Talented K9 Less Dog Hair Please

2016/5/3 9:25:47

Keeping dog hair to a minimum is all about keeping up with grooming your dog. Though they have treatments to put on their food that is supposed to help with shedding, I don't prefer to go that way. I feel that goes against the dog's natural ability to shed. Dogs need to shed. It's healthy for them and helps them stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

In this article I hope to give you at least a few tips that can help you keep the dog hair down. I hope in the end if you do the tips I've brought to you, you'll see less hair where it shouldn't be. Of course there will still be dog hair, but it should be a great deal less if you keep up with these few tips.

Our first tip is to find a good grooming tool. A good brush that will really get that hair out. There are many on the market, some more expensive than others. Be sure it's one that is really going to work. Sometimes you can find videos of the brushes in action. This can be very helpful in determining if a brush is right for you or your dog.

Once you have that great grooming tool, set it out where you can see it. Try brushing your dog every day. Make a habit out of doing it. Write it down on a note if you need to. Grooming can be a wonderful bonding experience between you and your dog if you can find the right brush to do it. You certainly don't want to use on that your dog hates. Sit down with your dog and calmly and slowly groom them. Make it a relaxing experience. Your dog should love this!

If you don't want to groom your dog inside, we are trying to keep the hair to a minimum aren't we? You can groom them outside. Still try to keep it calm and relaxing for them. Grooming your dog outside is not only beneficial for you and your house, but also for those birds that need hair and such to build their nests!

Another great thing to do, is before you bring your dog in from out side, give them a quick rub down. Being out side can bring on more shedding. Petting them and moving loose hair off before they come in can help tremendously. You can also keep your handy great brush by the door, so you can brush them down real quick before coming in.

Now for the obvious tip... keep up on vacuuming & sweeping. If you can get a good routine down for all of these, your house will be filled with a lot less hair! Hope I gave you some good ideas, and who knows maybe it jogged some ideas of your own!
