Siberian husky dogs are one of dogs bred for work. These work dogs have a face mask, and their bodies are covered with thick red, white, black or grey coats. The dogs are a very old breed that has been around for a long period of time.
Originally, these dogs were raised to pull loads over loads over lengthy distances. They are a favorite option for sled dogs. Nowadays, these animals are used by search parties and rescuers. They fall under medium sized dog breed. The female dog averages 35 to 50 pound in weight and has a height of 20 to 21 inches. The male dog has a weight of 45 to 60 pounds with a height that ranges between 21 to 23.5 inches.
The dogs are known to be extremely gentle, adventurous and outgoing. Their friendliness also extends to strangers. This character disqualifies them from use as watch dogs. Learning new tricks and commands to them is very easy. This can be attributed to their high intelligence.
These animals can make an excellent pet for your family, and also they are friendly to children. These dogs (Siberian husky) are well mannered. They get along with other dog breed and domestic animals. The only major thing with these dogs is maintaining their coat. During their fur shedding periods you have to brush them every day. This brushing can be toned down when shedding ends and the frequency reduced.
The life expectancy of the dogs falls between twelve and fifteen years, just like others in the medium sized category. This can go down if someone does not take good care of his or her dog. The greatest concern is normally abnormal masses on the hip. Other problems affecting them are usually eye and skin problems. Outdoor activities, hiking and sled racing usually makes these dogs very happy.
If you opt to buy a Siberian husky, you have to be ready to provide them with lots of attention and exercise. They are an excellent choice for folks that live in cool environments. If you live in hot climates you are advised not to purchase any. Several dog owners find these fun loving animals fascinating. One of the biggest reasons for this is that these animals are really playful and can really make you fall in love with them.
