Dogs: Acting as the Best Friend

It has been said that a dog is a man's best friend. What is it about these canine animals that proves such loyalty and can be an example to even the best of human friends?

First of all, man's best friend never talks too much. This creature is always attentive, but never preachy or judgmental.

A dog will be listening whether you are crying and sniffling or laughing and giggling. This pet will be there for you in thick and thin.

Ok now consider your best human friend. He or she may be a good listener but what happens when you make this person angry?

Every person is just human and will always be hurt or upset by something, but the key is to learn how to let go and move on. The problem is that not all people are capable of doing this, which ruins relationships with others.

If you do something to hurt your friend or if you mess up and really lose his/her trust, you might do everything you can to apologize and to earn it back, but that may not be enough even for the kindest of friends. They may forgive you but have a hard time being as open and honest with you as they may have otherwise been.

Your furry friend, on the other hand, will forgive you a lot easier and still love you no matter what. Perhaps, you get upset with your dog and give it a swift kick, or say you accidentally squish his paw in the door, all you have to do is do a kind deed and the hurt is forgiven.

Show your pet some tender, loving, care and it will be back in your lap or at your feet just waiting to do your bidding. How forgiving and caring are these canine mammals!

Now consider you are at your house all alone-just you and the "man's best friend." The doorbell rings and what do most of these pets do?

They begin to bark like crazy, which for many is really annoying, but it shows how much your dog cares. No one will be able to harm you without it coming to your aid.

Some of these creatures may even stand in between harm's way for you, protecting you from whatever danger may be in your way. Not all friends are able to or willing to do this!

Some of these animals are even used for health and safety reasons. Those who are blind or deaf have dogs to help them see or get around avoiding harm or danger they may not be aware of due to their disabilities.

The best part about "man's best friend" is that they come in many different shapes, sizes, breeds, etc. This way, they will be appealing for many!

For example, the famous dog on AirBud is a golden retriever. Typically these dogs were used for hunting retrievals.
After a hunter shot a duck or a bird, the golden retriever would go pick it up in its mouth. They were bred specifically to have soft mouths for this duty!

Fortunately, these canines also really like water by instinct! This, of course, makes them even more suited for this help with hunting.

Golden Retrievers are also very nice and friendly making them one of the most popular breeds in the U.S. They are also popular breeds used as guides, search and rescue, and fires!

People have always said that these mammals are man's best friend and right they have come to be. Always there and always listening, even protective and kind and caring, these creatures are meant to be by man's side as a pet and a friend.

Dogs comfort and cheer up those who are feeling sad. Give a little kid a puppy and he/she will laugh and giggle petting and playing with the pet all the day long.

Children may cuddle and play with teddy bears, stuffed animals, and even imaginary friends, but none of these are living and breathing. A dog is living and breathing and can accompany a child just about anywhere he/she goes, keeping the child warm and safe if need be.

If only people could be as kind and as loyal as these special furry friends. How grateful humankind is for its best friend!
