Befriend a Cuddly Reptile through Alligator Stuffed Toys

Reptiles are not common house pets, especially the large breeds like alligators and crocodiles. This lack of interaction makes it hard for kids to be familiar with these animals, unlike what we can do with dogs and cats. With the emergence of alligator stuffed toys, children now can learn more about this animal from the comfort of their own homes. An alligator stuffed toy introduces the child to a different world.   An alligator’s habitat includes marshes swamps, lakes, and rivers. There are 2 known species, the Chinese and American alligators. American alligators are found in the swamps and watery areas stretching from North Carolina to Florida and Texas. The Chinese alligator, on the other hand, are found in the Yangtze River of China.   Those familiar with alligators know that they have large jaws, four short legs, and a thick tail. They are able to float with just their nostrils, eyes, and ears showing above water. Their tough skin is due to the leather-like covering it has. Chinese alligators are smaller than the American ones. They only reach about 6 feet in length, in contrast to American alligators that can grow up to 19 feet long.   Alligators dig burrows where they stay and live with their young. With the use of their mouth and clawed feet, they dig holes in the bottom of the pond or small tunnels in mud. These holes hold water even on dry seasons. What more, the soil swept aside to make this holes are transformed into rich soil where healthy plants grow.   Those not familiar with alligators and crocodiles may find it difficult to differentiate one from the other. One indicator is their snout and shape of their heads. Alligators have round snouts and broad head, while crocodiles have pointed snouts and triangular heads. With mouths closed, the alligators’ large teeth will still show on both sides of their jaws. This is not the case with crocodiles since their large teeth fit perfectly in the pits of their upper jaws.   It is nice to know more about how these reptiles behave. During summer, they do their sunbathing on land or by floating on water. They go through hibernation during the winter season, and they use their burrows for this. They may have short legs, but they are able to move fast especially in short distances. The females lay their eggs in the spring, which may be as many as 60 eggs. After 9 to 10 weeks of incubation, a peeping sound can be heard from these eggs signifying that they are ready to be exposed.   Unless you are breeding alligators or properly trained, you cannot take the risk of touching them. With an alligator stuffed toy, you can do so all day long. Tabby Plush has a 6 ft. long alligator that looks just like the real one. Kids would love playing with it and he or she will be able to see up close how an alligator looks like. Thanks to alligator stuffed toys, children will experience how it is like to cuddle this dangerous reptile.
