Breed Description

The English Setter is one of the oldest breeds of gun dogs and has been a treasured bird retriever for the last four hundred years. He thieves on human companionship or with other dogs. Mention in European literature in the 14th century he has been a registered breed by the Kennel Club in London since 1873. Descended from a variety of Spanish spaniels and pointers, he has also been known as the Laerack Setter.
