English Springer Spaniel Takes Westminster Dog Show 2007!

This years Westminster Dog Show was unbelievable! Over 2600 beautiful dogs were displayed representing 165 breeds during this two-day event.

This year, a 6 1/2-year-old English Springer Spaniel won the 2007 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. His formal name is Ch Felicity's Diamond Jim and is more commonly called "James".

The English springer spaniel is the largest of the land spaniels and a strong sturdy sporting dog whose popularity continues to rise. Used as a hunting dog, the English springer spaniel thrives on activity and the pursuit of game.

The adult English springer spaniel is approximately 20 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between 45 to 55 pounds.

    The Westminster Dog Show, in its 131st season in 2007, is the second-longest continuously running sporting event in the United States, next to the Kentucky Derby.
