Are You Fostering Dog Aggression Behavior?

Often times, owners are not aware that they are encouraging their dogs to become aggressive. You need to be aware that every single time that you interact with your dog, you are also teaching them how to behave in some situations. Dogs are very intelligent animals but you must know that they do not process information the way humans do. They are learning through your reaction. For instance if you show that you are approving their action then they will continue with the same response. The way you react to the behavior of dog and even your body language has a long lasting effect on the behavior of the dog. Always be cautious with your behavior towards your dog as it can elicit aggression. It is vital that you educate yourself with the things that can cause dog aggression. Most of the time, aggression is caused by the wrong treatment of the owners. There are common mistakes dog owners commit when interacting with their dog. Never hit your dog when they misbehave. The use of physical force to discipline your dog will only promote dog aggression. You can teach your dog something that you do not manifest. Violence will only worsen the aggression problem. If you hit the dog they will become fearful and their anxiety level will increase, because of this they will feel that they need to protect themselves. Rather than hitting your dog physically, approach with calmness. Avoid engaging in activity that is challenging to the dog. Playing pull and tug is not a good game for your dog. No matter how tame the dogs are, they still have tendencies to become aggressive if they are challenged. Choose a game that drains the dog's energy but does not challenge him in anyway. If you are not sure with the games that you can play with your dog, bringing him for a walk will drain much of his energy. Chaining or keeping your dog in a cage for a long period of time will encourage aggression. Dog needs to have interaction especially with their masters. Just like humans, dogs take pleasure in freedom.
