Most people think that nothing good can come out of a prison. They feel those in prison must have done something wrong if they are in jail. The notion of life behind bars for the majority of the population is about fear and violence. This is partly true and it is also due to the general imagination that has been fed by Hollywood movies. Contrary to popular belief, something good can come out of a prison. You might be surprised to know that there is a prison dog adoption program and it they are probably the best pets to have, they have been well-trained and contrary to popular belief, they are loved and well looked after.
The prison dog adoption is a program set to help people in jail make better use of their time and for them to contribute positively to the community. The way to achieve this is by training a dog that can later be adopted by some member of the public. The idea is original and will help people in jail to do something productive, as you can imagine they have to learn how to train a dog and they seem to be doing a fantastic job as the dogs learned all the tricks while being treated with love and respect during the training.
If you're looking to adopt a little dog, it might make sense to consider adopting a dog from the prison adoption program. You will thereby be contributing to helping inmates become better future members of the society. You need to bear in mind that most of the dogs in this program are not puppies. Most are a little under a year old and some are as old as three years; however, you can be sure that they are well-trained and affectionate - you will love them from day one.
