01. Obey the laws concerning your dog. Make sure to obey all vaccination, clean-up and leash laws.

02. Try to spend at least a half hour per day playing with your dog. You don't want your pet to feel unloved and lonely.

03. Make an informed decision about spaying or neutering your dog.

04. Give your dog the best veterinary care you can afford. Don't forget yearly check ups, dental check ups and vaccinations.

05. Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise each day. 30 minutes or more per day is best.

06. Make sure you're dog's papers are in order get him an ID tag and the proper license. Get your dog chip implanted. If you lose your dog you'll be able to find him.

07. You dog loves you unconditionally. Show him the same love in return. Be a good friend to your dog. Never beat, punish or hurt your dog. Use kindness when training your dog.

08. Be sure to always clean up well after your dog. This prevents infections and illness.

09. Groom your dog several times a week. Grooming is a great way of bonding with your dog.

10. Make sure your dog is getting the proper nutrition. Give him the best food you can afford.

11. Teach your dog to socialize. This will help him be comfortable around other pets and people. Take your dog to public places, like parks.

12. Train your dog. To feel fulfilled, you dog needs and want's to be trained.
