Become A Professional Dog Walker

28 11:27:38
Walking and running around some places with the dog walkers provide dogs their needed dog socialization.

There are many owners who like this better -to get dog walkers instead of letting them stay in some kennel or just get some canine sitters when they do not have time to do the walking with their own dogs. They will request the professional sitters to come to their house and guard their canine as well as lead them to walk for their exercise. This is to be done when the owner knows the canine sitter very well to trust his home and his canine to it's sitter.

To be able to have good dog socialization with the canine to look after the sitter must get some information about the dog from it's owner. And likewise the dog owner will also get some advice from the dog sitter about his experiences in some dogs that he has looked after. This way the owner will be able to get some important tips and may apply it to his canine.

Have you ever thought about building a dog walking business?

Some of you think I may be mad to even suggest dog walking as a way to earn a living but please hear me out. I have looked into this in some detail and would like to share some very interesting findings. This is a great way to earn a significant income doing something you (may) love! To keep it simple, I will first list some of the advantages, and then list some of the things that may scare people off. Dog walking is not age dependent and is therefore well suited to people looking for jobs over 40.

Advantages

  • Dog walking is a healthy outdoor activity which will keep you fit and well exercised

  • It is not too time consuming, with an estimated 4 hours per day

  • It pays surprisingly well - assume '10 ($15) per hour PER DOG. Most dog walkers are happy to walk 4 dogs at a time in one hour slots.

  • You can plan your walking around your own lifestyle

  • You can offer many other lucrative services alongside dog walking, including dog training, dog supplies, dog accessories, pet grooming, house sitting.

  • It is a good cause which is in great demand. It helped busy working people, elderly people, disabled people, and of course the dogs themselves

  • If you are concerned about starting out alone, you can join a pet care franchise which may offer you training and a strong brand to get you started quicker.

  • If you love dogs, there couldn't be a better lifestyle!

  • You can take on helpers and build a significant business from dog and pet care services.

Disadvantages

Dog walking will require you to be available at the agreed or scheduled times which puts pressure on your travel or holiday plans, sickness and other routine-breakers

  • You must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and this may involve cleaning the dogs up before returning them to their homes

  • Be prepared to use a lot of poop bags - its the law.

  • Watch out for local bylaws and restrictions in certain parks and public places.

  • There is some financial outlay required (you will need a car and some basic equipment such as leads, collars etc)
