5 Poodle Mixes and their Temperaments

The cavapoo enjoys human interaction and does not like to be left alone for an extended time. Cavapoos will be attached at your hip. They respond well to training and are eager to please. They are intelligent and very energetic. They weigh between fifteen and twenty pounds. They are between eight and fourteen inches tall. They are often a mix of colors, including black, white, tan, gold or light red. The hair may be curly, wavy or silky.

A scoodle is part scottish terrier. The scottish terrier is known to dig and chase squirrels. They were bred to hunt badgers. Like all terriers, they are agile and energetic. They are also territorial, stubborn, and loyal to their family. They may be aggressive around other dogs. Scoodle coats are black, brown, gray and white.

The poogle is a cross of a poodle and a beagle. Beagles were bred to hunt rabbits. They have a very keen sense of smell, great stamina and are excellent trackers. They are obsessive when they pick up a scent. Beagles are easy to excite and may bark at strangers, but are generally good with people and other animals especially cats. Poogles don’t shed and require daily exercise. Poogles commonly weigh twenty pounds. Poogle coloring is bicolor or tricolor black, tan, gray, brown and white.

The pugapoo is both loving and friendly. They should be exposed to other dogs and people as a puppy, but are generally accepting of other animals and children. They need little to moderate exercise. They are people oriented dogs and won’t do well if keep in the yard. They weigh between ten and thirty pounds. Their coats may be a variety of colors, and exhibit the curls of poodle or the wiry hair of the pug.

The chi-poo may weigh as little as three pounds or as much as twenty. They are small dogs best kept indoors. The chi-poo is playful and has high energy levels, thus they must be exercised. They are intelligent, trainable and enjoy close contact with their family alpha. They may become distressed without attention. They do tend to bark at anything unusual. The chi-poo sheds very little. The dominant colorings are black, tan, white and gray.
