Every dog-owner wants a well-behaved dog.

Even if you've attempted to train your dog before this and have not been as successful as you'd wish, don't worry, that is not your fault (with all the incorrect and incomplete info out there, it's understandable) . . . it IS possible to train your canine as well as you desire, and this video gives you a good way to help you to accomplish that.

This method is simple and efficient, and has been a real revolution in dog training, in recent times.

It was initially used for marine mammals (probably because dolphins naturally make clicking sounds!), and was so effective that it was enthusiastically taken up by dog trainers too.

One big advantage of clicker training is that, compared to almost any other method, clicker training gives far faster feedback on what the dog is doing. Imagine your dog has just done something you like, but is a few yards away. It takes time to run over there and pat the dog, or even to say "good boy".

With a clicker, the feedback to the dog is instant. This makes it a great deal simpler for the dog to rapidly learn exactly what you would like it to do, which is, after all, how training works!

Furthermore, the clicker's sound doesn't change depending on your mood! This is important, as it makes training the dog very much easier and quicker, instead of confusing it with giving the same command in different tones of voice as your mood varies.

How you do it is you initially buy a clicker. Most stores for pet products will have them, or some children's toys give suitable clicks.

Then with your dog, make a click and instantly give him a treat. Give him praise at the same time.

Repeat that often, so the dog links the click with the reward. Once this link has developed, the click can be used by itself nearly all of the time, without the treat.

The click takes on the meaning of "right" for the dog, so when you click, it knows that its action was what you want at precisely that time. So that is how clicker training works.

It can be of great assistance you train your canine more effectively and more swiftly. Try it out!
